NEXT transforms traditional windows into energy generating assets by creating a Window-PV system that looks like normal windows by selectively transmitting visible light with colors and transmission levels that meet window market requirements, and at the same time selectively absorbing UV and infrared light to provide on-site energy generation. With buildings accounting for 41% of US energy use, NEXT addresses the single largest variable operating expense for commercial buildings. This is a radical breakthrough that will have a significant impact on the State’s Statuary Energy Goals including greater electricity reliability, lower costs, and increased safety.
