Power Environmental and Energy Research Institute
Power, Environmental and Energy Research (PEER) Institute was originally established in 1998 as the PEER Center at California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Spun off in 2009, PEER Institute is now an independent, non-profit research organization dedicated to the incubation and commercialization of technologies in energy and environment sectors.

PEER’s vision is to catalyze and integrate the latest technological development in the energy and environment sectors with roots in fundamental sciences in order to tackle our grand challenges in sustainability. PEER is dedicated to bridging the gap between academic research and technology commercialization. As such, PEER’s missions include: 1. keep abreast with most recent breakthrough and advancement in related disciplines; 2. understand societal and market needs with respect to a wide range of issues in energy and environment; 3. interact and collaborate closely with stakeholders, academia, and industry to facilitate technology towards commercialization.
