Project Update
Installation was on hold from November 2022 to March 2023, but installation has now resumed and will continue to May 2023.
The Issue
California dairy standard control systems for various heating and cooling processes are mainly reactive and respond to aggregated plant demands. Even with advance controls such as VFD's and valve positioning, the energy efficiencies are still sub-optimal and can not be sustained over long-term operations.
Project Innovation
The purpose of this project is to design and deploy the next-generation energy management technologies to optimize dairy processing performance at a plant and pan-plant level, utilizing advanced process control systems that will use artificial intelligence and predictive model controls to improve energy efficiency and production values by using monitored data and results from previous experiences and then automatically applying the machine learning in the control strategies at and across five dairy processing locations.
Project Goals
Project Benefits
The project will advance the energy efficiency of the various dairy processes by implementing artificial intelligence to learn and predict settings for optimal processing. The implementation aims to improve energy efficiency by 15% for the affected diary systems.
Reliability
The project's adaptive controls will give the customer greater reliability by optimizing dairy processes in real-time. This will ensure the product is produced at consistent parameters.
