Imperial Western Products Microgrid Project
This project will design, install, and operate a microgrid at the Recipient's Coachella facility. The microgrid will consist of rooftop and carport mounted solar photovoltaic panels, battery energy storage, innovative microgrid controller, and respective interconnection equipment. This project will reduce the Recipient's reliance on the current electrical grid, help support sustainability goals, reduce operating costs, energy, and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), improve competitiveness, and serve as a model for other facilities. The project is consistent with the California Energy Commission's mission of leading the state to a 100 percent clean energy future.
This project is expected to reduce GHG emissions by approximately 300 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.
