This project will demonstrate how non-lithium-ion long duration energy storage (LDES) configured in a Hybrid Module Storage System (HMSS) arrangement can sustain critical operations at a scale of 6MW for 10 hours by combining 60 megawatt-hour (MWh) of vanadium flow batteries and zinc hybrid cathode batteries in a hybrid-module arrangement combined with carport-mounted solar photovoltaics in a behind-the-meter microgrid to demonstrate sustained critical operations for the Viejas Tribe of Kumeyaay Indians.
