The project’s use of combined PV and thermal energy with an organic Rankine cycle is radical and as such, is outside the scope of the rich incentive programs for conventional technologies. While the costs offered by large-volume deployments will offer an LCOE competitive with grid-purchased electricity, the significant non-recurring one-time engineering expenses involved in technology integration, deployment and optimization work do not make this a possibility today.
