Inspired by community need, the Berkeley Efficient & Resilient Multi-Use Showcase is a permanently affordable, all-electric, zero net energy (ZNE) building capable of: achieving ZNE status with a Solar Microgrid and renewable energy generation exclusively from rooftop solar, incorporating a Solar Microgrid for extended resilience, delivering electricity to the grid during peak consumption hours, and creating pathways to community ownership.

About Us
As California’s oldest Community Land Trust, NCLT has used community ownership and control of the land to provide affordable homes and community facilities for the past 48 years. Since 1973, NCLT has led the development of many innovations in cooperative and community ownership models that ensure housing and economic justice for all, developing deep partnerships with local community organizations and leaders. NCLT has been the lead developer on more than 20 projects that provide a wide range of permanently affordable ownership and cooperative housing for low-income households and community facilities in the Bay Area.
